This morning, I decided to treat myself to something sweet from the bakery, but little did I know, I’d get more than just a pastry. As I stood in front of the display case, mesmerized by the golden, flaky croissants, I couldn’t decide which one to choose. Should I go for the classic butter croissant or try something more adventurous, like almond or chocolate?
Just then, I noticed a handsome stranger standing next to me, studying the pastries with the same level of intensity. He looked like he knew his way around a good breakfast. On a whim, I decided to have a little fun. I turned to him, smiled, and said, “Which one would you recommend? I can’t seem to make up my mind.”
His eyes lit up, and a charming grin spread across his face. “Well,” he said, his tone playful, “you can never go wrong with a classic butter croissant. But if you’re feeling a little daring, the almond is life-changing.”
I laughed, appreciating his enthusiasm. “Daring, huh? I like the sound of that. Almond it is!” I said, picking one up and adding it to my tray. “If it’s not amazing, I know who to blame,” I teased, giving him a wink.
He chuckled and replied, “I stand by my choice. But if it’s not amazing, I’ll owe you another recommendation.”
As I walked away, almond croissant in hand, I couldn’t help but smile. It was such a small interaction, but it left me feeling unexpectedly lighthearted. Sometimes, the simplest moments—a croissant and a smile—are enough to brighten your day. And who knows? Maybe I made his morning as much as he made mine.
