I never expected my husband to say those words. We were sitting on the couch, discussing our finances as we often did, when he casually dropped the suggestion.
“You should think about joining the adult film industry,” he said, his voice calm and matter-of-fact.
I laughed at first, assuming he was joking. But as I looked at him, I realized he was completely serious.
“You’re beautiful,” he continued. “You have the body for it, and it pays well. We could finally afford the things we’ve been dreaming about.”
I stared at him, waiting for some sign of hesitation—some flicker of jealousy. But there was none.
“You wouldn’t mind me… with other men?” I asked, my voice quieter than I intended.
“Not at all,” he replied, smiling. “In fact, I think it could make our marriage stronger. More excitement, fewer secrets. It could be good for us.”
I felt a chill run through me. Was this the man I married? Had I missed something all these years?
A whirlwind of thoughts filled my mind. Was this empowerment or exploitation? Adventure or betrayal?
As I sat there, still stunned, he reached for my hand. “Just think about it,” he said.
I nodded, but deep down, I already knew—this wasn’t just a proposal for money. This was a test of who we really were as a couple. And I wasn’t sure we would survive the answer.
