I sat across from my husband, still trying to process what he had just said. His words hung in the air like thick smoke, suffocating me.
“You should consider becoming an adult film actress,” he had said, as casually as if he were suggesting a new career in real estate or online sales.
I blinked at him, unsure if I had misheard. “What?”
He leaned forward, his expression calm, almost excited. “Think about it. You’re gorgeous. You have the perfect look for it, and the money is incredible. It could solve a lot of our problems.”
I let out a nervous laugh, waiting for him to say he was kidding. But his face remained serious.
“You’re actually suggesting that I—” My words trailed off, too stunned to finish the sentence.
He nodded. “I wouldn’t be jealous. In fact, I think it could strengthen our marriage. It would make us more open with each other. More adventurous.”
I stared at him, my heart pounding. Was this really the man I married? Was this a secret fantasy he had been harboring? Or worse—did he no longer see me as his wife, but as an opportunity?
A thousand questions raced through my mind. Was this love, or was this a test? Would I be proving my devotion by agreeing… or destroying everything we had built?
“I… I don’t know what to say,” I whispered.
“Just think about it,” he said with a smile.
But deep down, I already knew—I didn’t have to.
