Why does my personal trainer take such amazing photos? Seriously, every time we finish a workout, he effortlessly picks up his phone, tilts it slightly, adjusts the lighting, and boom—perfection. I look strong, confident, even a little glamorous despite the sweat. His angles? Flawless. His timing? Impeccable. It’s like he instinctively knows how to make people look their best.
Meanwhile, my husband… well, let’s just say photography is not his calling. The last time I asked him to take a picture of me, he somehow managed to get half of my face in the shadows, my arms looking twice their size, and my expression frozen mid-blink. “You moved,” he said defensively, as if I was the problem.
I’ve tried to teach him. “Babe, hold the phone higher. No, not that high—I’m not trying to look like an elf. Okay, step back a little… now focus… no, don’t zoom in, just move closer!” But after five tries and a collection of unflattering shots, I usually give up.
I showed him one of the pictures my trainer took the other day. “See? This is what I mean.” My husband squinted at the screen. “Well, maybe he just has better lighting at the gym.”
Sure. Let’s blame the lighting.
