I could sense something was off as soon as I stepped onto the patio. We sat by the pool, sipping drinks and talking about work at first, but then the conversation shifted. He leaned in closer, lowering his voice, and what he said next shocked me to my core.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you spend just one night with me, I\u2019ll make sure you get the promotion you\u2019ve been eyeing,\u201d he said, looking me directly in the eye.<\/p>\n<p>My heart pounded in my chest, a mix of disbelief, anger, and confusion swirling inside me. I couldn\u2019t believe what I was hearing. I had worked hard for my position, earned every bit of respect I had, and now he was reducing my worth to something so shallow.<\/p>\n<p>I felt trapped in that moment. I didn\u2019t know how to respond right away. My mind raced through all the possibilities. Saying no could ruin my chances for advancement, but saying yes was something I couldn\u2019t even fathom. How dare he put me in this position?<\/p>\n<p>I stood up, feeling the weight of his proposition settling over me. \u201cI\u2019m not someone you can buy,\u201d I said, my voice steady though my hands were trembling. \u201cIf I\u2019m going to get that promotion, it will be because I\u2019ve earned it, not because of something so degrading.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He looked taken aback, as if he hadn\u2019t expected me to turn him down. I walked away, my mind spinning, but with one clear thought: I would never let anyone devalue my integrity, no matter the price.<\/p>\n<p>As I left his house, I knew this wasn\u2019t the end of the story. Confrontations like this have consequences.
