But as the evening progressed, I noticed his tone change\u2014he became more personal, and suddenly, out of nowhere, he made his proposition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you agree to spend the night with me,\u201d he said casually, \u201cI\u2019ll make sure you get that promotion you deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For a moment, I was frozen. I couldn\u2019t believe what I had just heard. My heart raced, and my mind scrambled to process the words. Did he really just ask that? He knew I was married. He knew I had worked hard to earn my place in the company. Yet here he was, reducing my career advancement to a twisted bargain.<\/p>\n<p>I felt sick, but I tried to remain composed. \u201cI\u2019m married,\u201d I said firmly, hoping that would shut down the conversation. But he just shrugged. \u201cSo? That\u2019s your choice. This is mine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I stood up, quickly making an excuse to leave. As I drove home, I felt a mix of disgust and disbelief. The trust I had in my workplace had been shattered, and I knew I\u2019d never see my boss the same way again.
