She never meant it as an insult, but more as an observation about my personality. \u201cYou think differently,\u201d she\u2019d say. \u201cNot everyone will get you.\u201d I always brushed it off, telling myself that when the right person came along, understanding wouldn\u2019t be an issue\u2014it would just happen naturally.<\/p>\n<p>But as I\u2019ve navigated relationships, I\u2019ve realized that maybe she had a point. I\u2019ve met people who liked me but didn\u2019t quite <em>see<\/em> me, who appreciated certain parts of me but didn\u2019t fully embrace the whole. I\u2019ve been told I\u2019m too deep, too intense, too lost in my own thoughts. Some men wanted me to be simpler, easier to figure out. Others tried to mold me into their idea of the perfect partner instead of accepting who I already was.<\/p>\n<p>Still, I refuse to believe that love has to be a struggle. I don\u2019t think I\u2019m too much\u2014I just think I need the right person. Someone who listens, who sees beyond the surface, who doesn\u2019t try to change or fix me but simply <em>gets<\/em> me. I believe that when that person comes along, everything will fall into place effortlessly.<\/p>\n<p>So, while my mom may have seen relationships as a challenge for me, I see them as a journey.
