From the moment he arrived, I felt uneasy. I told myself I was imagining it, that I was being overly sensitive. I take a step back, but somehow, he always manages to close the gap again. At first, I thought maybe he just had no sense of personal space. But then came the comments.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"800\">\u201cYou\u2019re even more beautiful in person,\u201d he said the first night, his eyes lingering on me. I laughed awkwardly, brushing it off, but it didn\u2019t stop there. He finds ways to compliment me constantly, and though the words might seem harmless, the way he says them makes my stomach twist.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"802\" data-end=\"1014\">\u201cYou\u2019re going to make my stepson a very lucky man,\u201d he told me yesterday, his gaze dropping lower than my face. \u201cIf he ever messes up, well\u2026 some men wouldn\u2019t let a woman like you go.\u201d He laughed, but I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1016\" data-end=\"1207\">Now, I avoid being alone in a room with him. I time my movements so that my fianc\u00e9 is always nearby. I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m overreacting, but my instincts are screaming at me to stay on guard.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1333\" data-is-last-node=\"\">I just hope he leaves soon.
