Kensington Palace issued an announcement that she had indeed gone in for abdominal surgery, but a lot of the whys remain unclear even now, a week after that fact.<\/p>\n<p>Now, that\u2019s par for the course where the British royals are concerned, but that doesn\u2019t mean people haven\u2019t been left wondering just what was wrong with Kate that required surgery to fix, and just how serious it is that it would leave her in hospital for up to two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The hospitalization of Kate Middleton has understandably been a cause for concern for her many fans worldwide. Not only was the matter sudden and unexpected \u2013 despite Kensington Palace\u2019s claim that it had been \u2018planned\u2019 \u2013 but information regarding what Kate was actually suffering from has been scarce.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-80d55e4b054b0fef48ad054cfe7b10ca\" class=\"newsner-80d55e4b054b0fef48ad054cfe7b10ca newsner-amp_article_inside_content\"><\/div>\n<p><em>Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>the statement from Kensington Palace on its social media pages.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Last week\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/royals\/25498575\/princess-kate-children-george-charlotte-louis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Sun newspaper said<\/a>\u00a0that Prince William has been at Kate\u2019s bedside every day since her operation, though her children haven\u2019t yet been to see her. Is her life currently in danger?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHer life was in great danger,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0the journalist added.<em>\u00a0\u201cThe concern at the Royal House was palpable. Whether or not the Palace would announce if it was \u2013\u00a0unless it was absolutely unavoidable \u2013 is another matter for consideration.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>***UPDATE***<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Kensington Palace this morning announced that Kate Middleton has been deemed fit enough to leave hospital and continue her recovery at home in Windsor.
