This was the case for 20-year-old Allison Fisher. In 2020, Fisher began experiencing severe stomach pain and irregular menstrual cycles, with a period lasting an entire year. She avoided seeking medical help due to her fear of doctors focusing on her weight rather than her symptoms. \u201cI let myself believe that if I ignored it, it would go away,\u201d she admitted. Her mother\u2019s cancer diagnosis in 2021 also motivated her to address her own health issues.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/media.zenfs.com\/en\/wjax_cox_articles_158\/2a3c138ade87267321efdce548ac27a8\" alt=\"Jacksonville 20-year-old gets a second chance at life after having a  104-pound ovarian tumor removed\" width=\"416\" height=\"554\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Martin Martino diagnosed Fisher with a 104-lb. ovarian cyst containing 46 liters of fluid. The surgery required pulmonary and cardiology specialists due to the cyst\u2019s complications.
