{"id":983,"date":"2024-02-20T18:50:45","date_gmt":"2024-02-20T18:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/findpath.xyz\/?p=983"},"modified":"2024-02-20T18:50:45","modified_gmt":"2024-02-20T18:50:45","slug":"jimmy-carters-grandson-gives-update-one-year-after-former-potus-99-entered-hospice-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/findpath.xyz\/?p=983","title":{"rendered":"Jimmy Carter\u2019s grandson gives update one year after former POTUS, 99, entered hospice care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>This week marks one year since former president\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/tag\/jimmy-carter\/\">Jimmy Carter<\/a>\u00a0entered hospice care, but the iconic statesman\u2019s grandson insists his spirit remains as strong as ever.<\/strong><\/p><div class=\"311fe198f191a864c1efcdfa9efedfdf\" data-index=\"3\" style=\"float: none; margin:0px 0 0px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1782571\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script>(function(w,q){w[q]=w[q]||[];w[q].push([\"_mgc.load\"])})(window,\"_mgq\");\r\n<\/script>\r\n\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Much has changed since Carter entered hospice care last February, a decision taken after a series of hospital stays to combat a host of growing issues.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.newsner.com\/family\/jimmy-carter-revealed-heartbreaking-plan-to-his-son-months-before-rosalynns-death\/\">Jimmy\u2019s wife Rosalynn passed away<\/a>\u00a0in November, and the ex-president himself has been greatly troubled by health problems in recent years, including brain cancer, liver cancer, a broken hip, and brain surgery.<\/p>\n<div id=\"newsner-9fbc3b7d98a3a4395a653e1b01697781\" class=\"newsner-9fbc3b7d98a3a4395a653e1b01697781 newsner-bluebillywig_instream\"><\/div>\n<p>Yet one year after entering hospice care, his grandson\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/jimmy-carter-hospice-care-grandson-b2498812.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">has given an update<\/a>\u00a0on Carter\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a year in hospice, on a daily basis, we have no expectations for his body. (Photo by Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The statement added:\u00a0<em>\u201cThe family is pleased that his decision last year to enter hospice care has sparked so many family discussions across the country on an important subject.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Incredibly, Carter finds himself in the six percent of people who have lived more than a year after entering hospice care.
