“His Silent Approval”

When I go out to the club, I don’t feel the guilt most people might. I meet men, dance, and sometimes let things go further. But my husband, he knows. He trusts me completely, and in a strange way, it’s as if he’s there with me, watching, approving. I take photos sometimes, little moments with someone new, and I send them to him. He doesn’t get upset—in fact, he likes it. Our relationship is far from traditional, but I know deep down that the love we share is real, unshakable. I can feel it in the way he smiles at those photos, in the way he never questions or criticizes. He shows his love not with jealousy or control, but with silent approval. What we have is different, maybe even confusing to some, but it’s enough for both of us. It works for us, and in his own way, he reminds me that no matter what, I am still his, even when I’m with someone else.
