I’m Rachel, 31, and single because I know that a great relationship should add to who I am, not take away from it. Too often, I see people bending over backward to fit into someone else’s mold, losing bits of themselves to keep the peace or make a relationship “work.”
I refuse to go down that path. I want love, yes. But I want it in a way that allows me to keep my identity intact. I’ve spent years figuring out what matters to me, what I enjoy, and what I want from life. Compromising my sense of self for someone else doesn’t align with my values.
I believe there’s someone out there who will appreciate me as I am. Until then, I’m here, focusing on my dreams, my goals, and my happiness. If love comes along, wonderful. But if it doesn’t, I’m proud to be my own source of joy.
