I’m Ava, 29 years old, and I’m single because I choose to be. Many people think that by this age, you should have “settled down” or be close to it. But for me, finding the right partner is about so much more than meeting a deadline. I believe that a true connection should make me feel seen and valued, not just “checked off” someone’s list.
I’ve watched friends change their personalities to suit their partners or give up their dreams to accommodate a relationship. I know that’s not for me. I don’t want to lose my ambition, humor, or quirks just to fit into someone else’s life. Instead, I want someone who sees these things as assets, not inconveniences.
So, for now, I’m enjoying life as it is, waiting for someone who complements my essence rather than compromises it. I know that staying true to myself might mean waiting a bit longer, but I believe that love should enhance who we are, not change us. Until that person comes along, I’ll keep living my life to the fullest.
