Being married to an incredible man who values fun as much as I do is one of the greatest blessings in my life. We’ve always shared an understanding that laughter and playfulness are the glue that keeps our bond strong, even during the most routine days. Today, I decided to bring a little flair to my day by creating a playful, lighthearted moment—something that would make me smile and, eventually, him too.

While strolling through the market, I found myself in the produce section, standing in front of a mountain of avocados. As I scanned the pile, an idea popped into my head. Why not have a little innocent fun? Nearby, I noticed a man carefully inspecting his own selection of fruits and vegetables. He seemed approachable, so I walked over and casually asked, “Excuse me, could you help me? I have no idea how to choose a ripe avocado.”

He looked up, slightly startled, but then his face softened into the most adorable smile. “Oh, sure!” he said, stepping closer. With great care, he began explaining the telltale signs of a good avocado, squeezing a few in his hands as he demonstrated. When he finally handed me one, he grinned and said, “This one is perfect—you can trust me.”

I couldn’t help but chuckle. His reaction had been so sweet, and the moment felt like a tiny burst of joy in the middle of an ordinary day. I thanked him, tucked the avocado into my basket, and headed to the checkout.

When I got home, I couldn’t wait to tell my husband about my little escapade. As I recounted the story, he laughed and said, “Well, did he get it right? Is the avocado actually ripe?”
