Owning My Own Happiness

My past does not define me, my future excites me, and my happiness is finally mine to own. For too long, I let the weight of past mistakes, disappointments, and heartaches shape who I was. I carried the baggage of a broken marriage, of dreams deferred, and of the person I thought I was supposed to be. But one day, I realized something powerful—that I get to choose who I am, who I become, and how I live my life.

The moment I let go of the past was the moment I started living for myself. No longer bound by the regrets of what could have been or the fear of what others might think, I began to embrace my own journey. My past may have shaped me, but it does not dictate my future. I am not the sum of my failures or my pain. I am the sum of my resilience, my courage, and my ability to rise, even when the world tried to knock me down.

With each new day, I am discovering a future that excites me. I’m exploring new passions, setting goals that once felt too far out of reach, and waking up with a sense of purpose I never knew I had. The freedom to create the life I want is intoxicating, and I embrace it fully.

But above all, I’ve learned that my happiness is mine to own. I no longer wait for someone else to give it to me or for circumstances to change. I create it every day with my choices, my attitude, and my belief that I deserve to be happy—right now, right here. My happiness isn’t a destination; it’s a way of living, and I’m finally living it.
