Feeling overwhelmed by the constant chaos at home, Mary decided she needed some time away to clear her mind. Every day felt like an uphill battle, with her husband rarely helping out with the kids or chores. One evening, after another exhausting day, she left a note for her husband on the kitchen table: “I’ve gone to my sister’s for a few days. I need some space to think and breathe. Please take care of the kids and remember to feed the dog. I’ll call when I’m ready to talk.”

Mary packed a small bag and drove to her sister’s house, hoping a few days away would give her the clarity she needed.
