While most of us have our own style in clothing, makeup, and colors, we follow a general guideline in parallel with current trends and fashion. Some people, however, obsess over sticking out. In their journey to uniqueness, they resort to custom surgery, tattoos, and even piercings. Anything to take them as far away as possible from their original appearance.
It’s not something I would ever do myself, but everyone is free to do whatever they want with their image – and we must respect them for that. Although, of course, it’s not something common to want to modify every single part of your body.
Eli Ink, a 27-year-old that lives in the city of Brighton, England, works as a tattoo artist. However, 10 years ago he started a project to cover his entire body with tattoos, reports the Daily Mail.
Today, ink covers almost every millimeter on his skin.
Picasso is his idol
He is extremely interested in art – and thinks of Pablo Picasso as a great source of inspiration. Especially when it comes to his body modifications.
“I’ve always been blown away by art itself. Picasso is a huge childhood inspiration to me, especially abstract art, but I do like all forms of art. Body art was just the next local step for me growing up.”
“In my opinion, the only person who will only ever understand my transition properly is me. I don’t attempt to describe it to anyone,” he said.
For 10 years he has regularly tattooed his body, which in many places has several layers of ink. He has also tattooed the inside of his mouth and turned the white of his eyeballs into black. The 27-year-old also has large stretchers in the lower lip and nose.
The ink will never end
But even though he has already changed almost his entire appearance, he claims he’s not finished.
“I will never be finished. It will take me the rest of my life to finish my studies but I am dedicating the rest of my life to body modification and perfecting my work.”
His appearance is so different and astonishing that his sight has caused children to cry several times.
“The best is always nice compliments, that’s always nice to hear, either from tattoo collectors or just passers-by, the worst is always the older generation looking down on you and making you feel worthless. But this is all a state of mind. I don’t take much notice anymore,” he finished.
He has since then deactivated his Instagram account.
